Trying to decide between a Tiger or Sprint. Looking to commute to work for the majority of time in town, but will be moving to CA eventually and will doing a longer highway/city commute. Probably riding solo 90% of the time. Married with kids, wife doesn't seem to keen on riding, but don't want to count her out yet, but at the moment, no long trips planned in the foreseeable future.
I'm leaning toward the Tiger, but also looking at the Sprint, but I'm a little worried its too heavy/awkward for riding in town easily? My view on seeing both is that they are both terrific bikes, but the Tiger, just seems more nimble sitting there and physically lighter to me.
I had a dirt bike in high school, but this will be my first road bike.
I'm 30, 6'4", married with 3 kids so not looking to race. Intent is to work with my next door neighbor practicing on getting back into it on his Honda Cruiser, take the MSF course ASAP, get onto my bike in a secluded parking lot, practice, then get onto a low population road and slowly work my way into traffic.
I get mixed inputs on getting the Tiger straight up, but the challenge is smaller bikes really don't fit and feel awkward. Would getting a Suzuki V-Strom 650 be the best approach as some have mentioned?
Thanks in advance for the help.

You will get more out of your bike with a Tiger for sure. The riding stance maybe a little unconventional if you haven't ridden a dual sport but the adjustment is great. Better for city driving for more mobility.

Just go ahead and get the Tiger.
This is a very user friendly bike. You will be riding with lots of confidence in no time what so ever!
Thanks to it riding position. You have great visibility, a definite plus for a returning rider. Also the bike has great comfort.
Since buying my one, an 09 Tiger. Hardly been able to leave it alone.
Let us know what you decide to get.
